 Patrick Gilsenan is a veteran journalist living and working in Washington, DC. So far Karin Palmquist's career choices have been nothing but elaborate excuses to get the next travel fix. She talked her way into a job as a freelance writer at The Washington Times solely because of the travel. She mixes up the political and financial articles she actually gets paid to write with articles about travel for various media outlets. She has contributed to two guidebooks by Fodor's and recently wrote two chapters for an anthology on travel disasters.
